-Create a typed up Resume in Word (Have to switch to Google Docs- Mac Books not working)
*format document into two columns, (Google docs-set left tab stop at 2 1/2)
*format line spacing to 1"- remove space after paragraph (Google docs- Line spacing 1)
*Contact info in the Header-centered-name 20 font and bold all other info 14 font not bold
*font style Cambria, 14 font (titles in left column are bold)
*Once approved by Caliva-(print, hole punch and put in binder)
-Upload this document into your Google docs

*Send a Cover Letter with your Resume (pg 36)-Minimum of 15 bullet notes in your notes packet.
-Discuss as a class.
*Type up a Business Letters-Learn the formatting of a professional letter in block format. You will:
*set page margins to (Top margin is 2, right, left and bottom 1)
*format line spacing (1)
*paragraphs (left alignment)
*font size (12)
*font face (Times New Roman)
*Double spacing in between paragraphs (hit the enter key twice)
*Quadruple space after the date and after Sincerely (hit enter four times-typing on the forth line with three spaces in between)
-Grab practice cover letter and we will discuss.
-Type up letter as is, with your return address, today's date and name
Day fifteen: (Oct 15)
*Finish typing up the practice Cover Letter example from class. Print off Cover Letter and don't for get to sign it with blue or black pen.
We will label it as a class: title it Cover Letter (using the 2,3,4,5 rule I teach you) and label all the body parts. Hole punch and put in binder
-Find the 10 errors on the business letter (Up on the board)

*Thank You Letters (use link below)-Minimum of 10 bullet notes in your notes packet. Discuss as a class.

-We will read a sample thank you letter in class. Using this as a guide you will use the exact same formatting tools learned
(2,3,4,5) to type up a real thank you letter to the Goodwill interviewer you had. (See board for names and 5 line letter address)

-Finish up your thank you letters to Goodwill
*Print off, label it Thank You letter, label (the 2,3,4,5) hole punch and put in binder
-Start your Quick Tips Job Unit Brochure in Publisher (use all notes used from the Job Unit Notes) You have 3 days to work on this

*Create a rough draft template so you can see why the columns are in the order they are in (save this template you will attach it to your
pamphlet when you turn in the final copy for points.
-Use the example here for the proper column order

*Now start to type up your notes in a pamphlet template.
-Use Lucid Press in Google Drive. (New, More, connect more apps, type in Lucid Press, brochure templates)

*Remember the tips from above (Ask for help if having troubles with setting up a column, adding pictures, fitting info in, etc)
-Grading Binders today (220 Points)

-Continue working on Quick Tip Job Unit Brochure
*When done print two sided document (will show you how to set this up in class)
*Fold properly and turn in the box (with rough draft outline stapled to the back)

-Last day to finish up Quick Tip Job Unit Brochure -(about 30 minutes to finish up typing, then print and staple rough draft outline. Turn in)
-Vocabulary Journal: Interview, Occupation, Career, Wages, Salary, Income
-Review our "Career Development and Research" packet
*Start our "Career Development and Research" packet
-Quality Info and NAVIANCE/Family Connection are websites with information on 100's of occupations. Each is an interactive career exploration
tool to help make career decisions, find schools and training providers. Also qualityinfo.org can help to locate potential employers and has
great articles on a range of topics related to the job market and our economy.
-Log into Clever Student (includes NAVIANCE) on the THS website under the Student Tab

-take the questionnaire and write down results in your Career Packet (hint for the last part of the worksheet: click on the
green i next to the type of preparation that your favorite career falls under- summarize the experience, education, job training
and examples)
*Last take the third questionnaire the third questionnaire in NAVIANCE -Click on the "About Me" tab again and scroll down to the
