-Finish reading Chapter 19 Advertising-19.1 Advertising Media-stop after transit advertising-(take notes on outline) or

-Turn to back of packet:

Day thirty seven: (Jan 10)
-Read the rest of 19.1-Broadcast, Internet, Specialty and Other Media-(take notes on outline)
*Create a document where you copy and paste an image of each of the Broadcast Medias (Television add vs Radio Spot) each of the Internet Advertisements (opt in email , banner ads, social media ad) three examples of Specialty Media and last three examples of
Other Advertising Media. Be Sure to Label each Media with each example type!-Staple to the back of your packet
-Start to read Chapter 20 Print Advertisement- 20.1 Elements if Advertising (starting on pg 469)
Day thirty eight: (Jan 14)
-Review Chapter 19.1 from Broadcast to Other Media (4 TQ's) Cornell style (read notes, highlight, ?, *, left hand margin, summarize, share)
-Finish reading parts of Chapter 20 Print Advertisement- 20.1 Elements if Advertising (starting on pg 469)
-Turn to back of packet:
* Start Worksheet 3
-Find 3 different sized examples of newspaper Ads and glue to sheet. Label each of the five components of each ad and what is effective
and or not so effective about each ad.
-Next design a newspaper ad for your favorite store or restaurant (about 4" x 4") using all 5 of the components for print advertisement.
Have a fun sale or special going on with specific dates and be sure to include the company logo address, phone number, email, and store hours.
(Make sure that you are looking at the ads that you have cut out from the newspaper)
The five components must have:
1. Headline-10 words or less, grabs reader attention, bold, big provide reason for purchase (takes up about 1/3 of the ad space)
2. Ad copy-direct, not too wordy, appeal to senses, have valuable info-who, what, where, when why, any interesting facts, create desire,
call to action
3. Illustration- photo, drawing, or other graphic that shows how the product looks, show how to use it, shows what the product will do for
them, (should take up about 1/3 of the ad space)
4. Signature/company slogan-Shows who the ad belongs to, instant recognition, typically at the bottom of the ad. Be sure to include
the company address, phone, website, store hours-small at the bottom of the ad)
5. Border (in in the newspaper)- makes the ad stand out, separates it from the other ads and articles. Try to make a creative border.

-Review Chapter 20.1 Cornell style with (4 TQ's) (read notes, highlight, ?, *, left hand margin, summarize, share)
-Finish designing a newspaper ad for your favorite store or restaurant (about 4" x 4") using all 5 of the components for print advertisement.
Have a fun sale or special going on with specific dates and be sure to include the company logo address, phone number, email, and store hours.
(Make sure that you are looking at the ads that you have cut out from the newspaper-follow tips from above and from your notes )

-Review Chapter 20.2 Cornell style with (4 TQ's) (read notes, highlight, ?, *, 4 TQ's in the left hand margin, summarize, share)
*Finish Worksheet four - Finish labeling your 5 Magazine ads that represent each of the the advertising Layouts
*Start to create a magazine ad following one of the Advertising layouts (CANNOT BE SINGLE VISUAL) and its characteristics.
Be sure to consider typeface, type size and components of of an effective ad layout. Title your magazine ad layout and label
the effective components of that ad just like you did on your magazine examples above. (use page 478 to label)
Day forty three: (Jan 31)
-Finish up your Chapter 19/20 Advertising packets. Everyone has pieces missing. Clean it all up, make sure to add all missing parts, organize it, fix
various things I asked you to redo, etc.
******Print it off and Staple everything we have done to the back of the packet and and Turn in*******
(If we have time) - Didn't get to
-Get into groups and become experts on your various topics. You all will create Posters that include, the description of each type along with
examples, advantages, disadvantages, tips for how to be effective, etc . All posters must be in color, all members must be involved in the
presentation of the information. Visuals must be large. Use pictures/illustrations as much as possible
