Day twenty one:(Nov 1)
-Next explore the Quality Info (created by the Oregon Employment Department) website. Read some articles, explore various tabs and links,
search for current job openings here in Oregon, click on the different counties on the map, etc. Check out BOTH sites for about 15
minutes before moving on to the next three worksheets in your packets.

*Fill out Lessons 1 in the Career Research Packet as you explore writing down links or tabs, or info you find helpful from each site
(for Lesson 1 worksheet use both the NAVIANCE and Quality info websites)
-Continue in the Career Exploration Packet (Be sure to have Quality Info and NAVIANCE websites open) Work on lesson 2-5
*We will start with Lesson 2 using www.qualityinfo.org (follow the directions on the top of the worksheet) I will show you how to
read these reports so you can fill out this worksheet.
*Now move on to Lesson 3 using NAVIANCE (you will search the career of your choice here-Click on the careers tab, and then the careers home
tab, next type in your career title in the search box, you will then use the "knowledge and skills" tab, the "tasks and activities" tab
and the "wages" tab to fill out this worksheet
*Next fill out Lessons 4 worksheet using Qualityinfo.org (follow the directions on the top of the worksheet)
*Fill out Lesson 5 worksheet using NAVIANCE (you will search 3 careers of your choice here, it cannot be the same one that you looked up
on the lesson 3 worksheet. -Click on the careers tab, and then the careers home tab, next type in your career title in the search box,
you will then use the "knowledge and skills" tab, the "tasks and activities" tab and the "wages" tab to fill out this worksheet.
This is just like Lesson 3 only more condensed. You have to squeeze the info on the page :)
Day twenty two: (Nov 5)
-Finish filling out Lesson 5 worksheet using NAVIANCE (follow the directions on the top of the worksheet)
-Next continue career Exploration Packet- Lesson 6 "College Look Up Worksheets" (there are four total that you will fill out)
You will be using NAVIANCE - under the college tab use the Super Match link and Pin two schools to compare info for each career.
*For your top two career choices, find two colleges that you think that you would like to attend that have majors in this field. Be sure
to use the "Quick Comparison" pinned report along with finding the remainder information from visiting the NAVIANCE Overview Pages
they have for each school.
-Finish up any missing pages or sections that you previously did not complete.
-Students who have finished everything, take the ACT questionnaire and write down results on a sheet of paper

Day twenty three: (Nov 7)
-Finish up your Career Exploration Packets (about 15 minutes only)
-Next create an flyer in Lucid Press using a flyer template on your favorite career: (Using info from the NAVIANCE website
for the info below-You may use a career from the Lesson 5 and Lesson 6 worksheets, since all of this info comes from one of those worksheets)
* include a: creative title, description of career, 5 skills, 5 abilities, 5 tasks, 5 knowledge areas, wage-(entry, middle, & top,) and
2 colleges you can attend-(name, city/state, phone, instate/out of state tuition, enrollment #, and type-public or private)
Be sure to add at least two pictures that go along with the theme of your career.

-When done with flyer, staple to the front of your packet. Turn-in box at the front of the room

-Finish up, print off career flyer if you did not already (Print and turn in stapled to the top of your Career Exploration Packet!) 15-20 minutes
-Start Reading Chapter 1: Marketing Today and Tomorrow- 1.1 What is Marketing -and take notes on outline packet (pages 4-10)

*Worksheet 1-Marketing Functions
-Read the shared examples of the 9 marketing functions for Nike. Next pick a company that you are very familiar with
and write out what they do well or not so well for each of the marketing functions.
-Talk about each function as a class
Day twenty five: (Nov 15)
-Take a few minutes to finish reading 1.1 What is Marketing and taking notes on your outline (If done already, re-read your notes to remember
what you read last class.) When done reading move on to Worksheet 1 on your own
-Worksheet 1- Pick a company that you are very familiar with and write out what they do for each marketing function.
-Table groups create a poster of an agreed upon company. Write out the nine functions and what this company does well or not so well
for each function. The company may not be an athletic clothing company. Make sure the poster is *colorful, *neat, *easy to read, *add pictures, have the *company name and write our the *titles of each functions, * with a mini definition for each, *with the list of
what they do for each function (We will share these posters with the class)
Day twenty six: (Nov 19)
-Review Chapter 1.1 Notes Cornell Style:
*Re-read notes from last class
*Highlight main ideas
*Put ? next to things you may be confused on
*Put * next to things you think may be on the test
*Off on the left hand margin ask questions you think may be asked on the test (4 questions for each section)
*On a separate sheet of paper Label Summary 1.1 and summarize what you read/wrote in 3-5 sentences
*Turn to share test questions with a neighbor (If they have good ideas you can add those to your page)
-Finish up your posters about 10-15 minutes and then we will present. Group with the most detailed lists win candy
-Next turn to worksheet 2- Marketing Functions table - draw an image that represents the definition of each function
Day twenty seven: (Nov 21)
-Take volunteers to draw one of the nine functions up on the whiteboard (or Worksheet 2-Marketing Functions table draw an image
that represents the definition of each)
-Kahoot.com (What do you remember about the 9 Marketing Functions)
-9 Marketing Functions Activity -Work as a table group while doing this 9 functions scavenger hunt. See if you can find the example that best
represents how each function is being used. Then make recommendations for improvements on some of these functions.
(Everyone fill out their own worksheet and attach to to the back of your packet)
