Day fifty-one: (March 2)
Day 4
-Work on your Sales Promotion mock-ups.
-Create your Advertisement mock-ups.
*Remember all samples of work you create should include the: Who, What, Where, When, Why, Event Slogan, Company logo,
an illustration and contact information (name, website, phone, email.) Some of that info will be Large on the work sample and
some info will be small and located at the bottom. Be sure to use a flyer or Brochure template if you making those, and be sure to look
at actual ads from the newspaper to see what type of info is typically in them. Your newspaper ad should be about a 4"x 4" ad or a 5"x 8"
Day fifty-two: (March 4)

- Finish up your advertisements
-Create your Direct Marketing Mock-ups.
Remember DETAILS, DETAILS DETAILS. (Who, what, where, when, why, slogan, contact info, Portland Gear logo, etc) Two mock-ups
if in teams of two. Make the mock ups as realistic as possible. Use all of the artistic tools that we have learned in Chapter 19/20.
Remember these are advertisements or social media, it is just that you are mailing them directly to specific people.Day forty five: (Feb 6-7)
-Start to create your Public Relations (Publicity) Mock-ups- Remember one must be a media release you type up about your event. Be sure to follow
the exact criteria on page 398.

-Finish up your Public relations
-Create your Personal Selling mock-ups (If you do a T-shirt, you will have to design both sides in order to fulfill all of the who, what, where, when,
why, -logo, contact info and slogan requirements. Be careful because this can be tricky to fit attractively on a shirt.)

Day 7-Last Day
-You have the first part of class to print off all of your mock-ups, print off your Slogan "big" for your poster board, along with the
titles nice and "big" for the labeling each of the five tools for your poster board. Look around room to see how other students did this.
-Next glue the titles and information on to your poster board. (Must use construction paper as the background for these titles.)
-Print off your slide show in worksheet format. (I will show you how to do this) Two page document only!
-Share with me your google slide show and make sure your website address is somewhere on your slide show so we can view that during your
presentation ([email protected])

Presentation Day
-30 minutes to finish putting poster together, print your slide show in 6 slide handout form, practice your presentation with your partner.
Both of you must present equally, you must present all mock-ups so each of you be prepared to read each of them to the class. Be sure to
have your website pulled up on your Mac Book
-You and your partner will present you slide show along with showing us your website design and of course your mock-up poster board
*Be sure that you are both splitting the presentation equally. Address the audience as professionally as possible. Start your presentation
by introducing yourselves and by thanking Portland Gear for giving you the opportunity to present your promotional ideas. Then precede
to share your objective, target markets, event idea and slogan. Next explain that using all 5 tools of promotion will allow P G to spread the
word effectively and then lead into each of the 5 tools. With each promotional tool, be sure to not only present the tool, its definition, all
the different ways you will use that tool, but then refer to your poster board to point out and read to us the information on each mock-up.
-Have fun, be proud of your creativity, talk loud, have good eye contact, relax and have confidence!

-Don't forget to have an intro into the fact that you are choosing to use all five tools of promotion for this event because it is a first time event
so you want to be sure to get the word out as much as possible.

-Start to read Chapter 18-Visual Merchandising and Display; 18.1-Display Features
*Do activities at the back of packet:

-Next we will do an internet activity-Find examples of each of the 6 types of Interior displays off the internet. Copy and paste each of
them onto one sheet of paper and make sure to label each of the six with a reason why it fits this category. Architectural,
closed, open, point of purchase, interactive kiosk and store decorations. Make sure to title the paper "Types of Interior Displays"
with your name and block typed on there as well.

and discuss a little about the element you clearly see being used in the display. You may draw on your picture to better explain
what you are seeing if you would like to. Print them off and glue them on the wo

-Start to Design and explain Storefront (#1 in the scoring guide) (I recommend drawing your storefront first-then work on the write
up next) Must be designed and in color using colored pencil.
*When you start your write up, read the section in book about the storefront to really get the gist of all the thought and design that goes into
the storefronts layout. You have to think of placement of the sign, what the exterior and immediate interior look like to gain that image you
are going for. You may have freestanding signs out front with specials listed on it or landscaping/planters you place outside to draw the customer in.
The door itself has a lot to it. What is is made of, can you see through it, if it has glass, does it have an etching of your store logo on it. So much to
consider just for the Storefront. The more thought and detail the better. Be sure to capture all this detail in the drawing and in the write-up.
Day fifty five: (Mar 11-12)
-Review Storefront
-Finish up Storefront drawing. Must ALL be in color
-Storefront write up-will be written in three sections each titled Sign, Entrance and Window display. Be sure to be as thoughtful, detail
and as descriptive as you can. The more detail the better feel we will get for your store. Review the scoring guide below

-Finish up Storefront Write-up. Must be written in DETAIL (Turn in the drawing and the write-up stapled in the box)
-Start designing Store Layout if you have time (skip to #3 in the Scoring guide)-Create an aerial map of your store. We are looking
down into it. Review the scoring guide Get Here
Be sure to include and label:
*a legend for the map (showing what type of fixtures, what items are on each fixture, departments, cash registers, etc)
*color coordinate things from the store layout to the legend showing the 4 different spaces (selling, storage, customer, personnel)
*include all five departments
*include as much detail as possible both on the legend and on the store layout
*include location and detail about the impulse and clearance items found in the store

-Store Layout (#3)-aerial view with color coordinated legend
Be sure to include and label:

-Finish up your Store Layout (#3)-aerial view with color coordinated legend
-Start your Store Interior write-up (this is #2 on the scoring guide)-This will be a DETAILED write up describing what the store
looks like inside. Describe the vibe/image, the colors used, the walls and what they are made of and what we may see on them, the different
types of flooring we will see throughout the store (often times there are multiple types of flooring to make distinct departments stand out and
to create the feel of aisles,) the different types of lighting we will see and where, the type of music you will have on in the store or maybe just
in the dressing rooms, describe the look of the fixtures you have, describe the signage we may see throughout the store, any use of graphics
or art that you have to create the vibe you are going for, describe the differences of each departments and what makes them stand out from
one another. Anything else YOU can think of that describes your interior. Review the scoring Get Here

-Review Store Interior and the five steps to Interior Displays
-Finish up your Store Interior write-up (#2 in the scoring guide)-This is a minimum of one page. Be detailed. Try to explain
EVERYTHING you can think of.
-Start your Interior displays design and write ups (#4 in the scoring guide)- If you have time
Design and describe two specific displays that will be in the store. Maybe this would
be in a display cases, on top of an table, on a back wall etc. One of the displays must be a promotional display-(selling some sort of product/s)
and the other will needs to be institutional display (showing some form of goodwill- community support, charity fundraiser, etc.) Make sure your write up describes when (what time of year, what promotion event is going on at this time etc,) where in the store we would see it (what department or is it in the front of store right when you walk in or at the back, etc) and why you chose to highlight these particular products or cause.
